Why John Brown will be a top pick in the NFL draft

NFL teams have been searching for a quarterback to replace Matt Flynn and they have finally found it in John Brown.

The 6-foot-5, 227-pounder is considered one of the top quarterbacks in the draft, according to multiple NFL sources.

Brown, a former Michigan commit, played in all 12 games for Michigan last season after transferring to Michigan State.

He finished the year as the Spartans’ top passer with a school-record 14 touchdown passes and only five interceptions.

He was named the team’s offensive player of the year and was a finalist for the Hobart Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Award.

He has also won three MAC Hermann Trophy Awards.

Brown was named first-team All-MAC last season, the Big Ten Coaches Association First Team, and the league’s Offensive Player in the 2017 season.

He also earned Big Ten Offensive Player and Conference Defensive Player of Year honors.

Brown is the second quarterback taken in the first round by the Cleveland Browns this year, joining former Miami QB Chad Henne.

Brown’s commitment to Michigan was announced via Twitter by Michigan coach Brady Hoke.

Brown said that he plans to work hard in the classroom, play the game hard, and win a national championship for Michigan.
