On Monday night, the Washington Redskins will be drafting three players from one of the most important college football programs in the country.
The Washington Post’s David Jacoby breaks down the three players the Redskins will select.
The players selected are defensive end Myles Garrett, quarterback Sam Darnold and linebacker Shaq Lawson.
The Post’s Chris Wesseling provides the rankings.

The Redskins are taking Garrett at No. 19 overall, according to NFL.com, while Darnolds is the second-best quarterback on the board.
The No. 21 overall pick is a high-powered, highly athletic prospect who can play the run or pass the deep ball.
Darnold, a former All-American at Alabama who threw for 4,988 yards and 25 touchdowns last season, could be a steal for the Redskins if he can overcome a hamstring injury.
Davids best fit is in the running game, where he could see time alongside his father, Deion.
Darnsdolds father, former Washington State quarterback Deion, has been a starting running back at Oklahoma State since 2010.
The son of Deion Jones is a two-time first-team All-Big 12 selection who was named a semifinalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2015.
Darius has also had success at quarterback for the Cowboys this season, posting a passer rating of 120.3 during the regular season.
Dajon Dajontae Jones, Deon Jones and Deion have a combined 5,811 rushing yards and 33 touchdowns during the Cowboys’ run to the playoffs last year.
Washington has the No. 8 overall pick in the 2017 draft, and the Redskins have the right to match any pick it wishes with a trade.
The Redskins will take the highest pick in round one of any round in this draft, meaning they can get any player they want in the first round.
The second pick of the draft, which is expected to be at No and No. 10 overall, will come from Alabama, according the NFL Network’s NFL Draft Tracker.
It will be Alabama defensive tackle Tashaun Gipson, who has been an all-conference player for the Crimson Tide this season.
The 6-foot-2, 295-pound lineman was the nation’s best defensive tackle last season.
Dajon Jones is one of two Alabama players selected by the Redskins in the third round of the NFL draft.
The other is 6-2 safety Jordan Willis, who was selected by Washington from Florida State in the second round last month.
The other big name in the draft is 6’2, 225-pound defensive end Malik McDowell from Florida.
McDowell is the son of former Alabama star defensive end Dante McDowell.
The fifth pick in this year’s draft will come with the ninth pick in 2019, which means the Redskins can get either one or two players from that team.
The second-round pick in 2020 will be Georgia safety Jalen Ramsey, who went undrafted out of Alabama.
Ramsey has been suspended for all of 2017 after being arrested for driving under the influence.
The sixth pick in next year’s round will be a linebacker, a position the Redskins need depth at.
They need to address that in the offseason.
They’ll get the No, 12 pick in 2021, which would come from Stanford defensive end Robert Nkemdiche.
The five-star prospect has played in just one game for Stanford this season and has not played since suffering a concussion in September of last year against Utah.
