Browns coach Hue Jackson: ‘I know I can’t play’ after knee injury

Browns coach and head coach Hue “I know it’s not ideal to be sitting on the sidelines and I know it will be tough, but I’m going to fight through it.

I’m not going to sit on the sideline forever.

This is going to be a long time.”

The Browns announced Sunday that they have activated veteran linebacker James Harrison, who is on the physically unable to perform list with a left knee injury.

The Browns said Harrison will not play in their next game and that his status is under review.

Harrison, a three-time Pro Bowler and NFL Defensive Player of the Year, has missed nine games since 2011 with a right knee injury and two left knee surgeries.

He has played in just one game since 2014, the first since undergoing surgery for a left ACL tear.

Jackson said Monday that he would not be ready for the Browns opener on Sunday.

He also said he is hopeful he can return to the field soon.
